ABOUT
The Museum houses four distinct collections: works of art, rare and historic books, surgical instruments, and memorabilia. Objects range in date from the 15th to the late 20th century. Works of art include a significant collection of portraits, works on paper, sculpture, silverware, textiles, ceramics and glass. The book collections include the Cowlishaw Collection, the most important library of historic medical books in Australia, and the Leonard Murphy Collection, one of the world's most extensive collections of books on urology. Historic surgical instruments, mainly from the 19th century, and diplomatic gifts complete the collection.
