ABOUT

Our extensive collection of documents, photos, paintings and artefacts tells the stories from the local area - the Nepean Peninsula - including the Boon Wurrung people, early settlers of Sorrento and surrounds, the unique Quarantine Station story and army history at Point Nepean, the sea and ship wrecks. Precious items include indigenous microliths from thousands of years ago, artefacts including leg irons from the Collins Settlement in 1803 -the first European settlement in Port Phillip Bay, ship wreck pieces, early tourism. Our original furnished limeburner's cottage is a special attraction.
